Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko, a Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai MMA fighter from Peru, and mixed martial arts athlete fighting for in the UFC for the Flyweight Division is currently a Kyrgyzstani. She is the elder sister of her fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as an Muay Thai boxer. She made her debut in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the event and beat Suzane Milliner by unanimous decision. Antonina was awarded a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008, and a gold medal gold in the year 2011. She was also crowned IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion of 2016 by IFMA. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003. She took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina's final bout took place at Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won with a majority. Antonina Schevchenko broke her professional MMA records in 2002, when she faced Anara Bazanova in the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won this fight by TKO at the end of round 2 and the two subsequent matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko had a brief absence from MMA and devoted her time to kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. After leaving the league in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina showed off her power of striking by tying Nievera using knees. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded the UFC contract after the victory. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modeafferi with an unanimous decision. However, she then lost her subsequent fight because of the split decision. Antonina recovered from the loss to beat Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission during the second round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the night in this fight. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three fights but then lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina is currently being defeated by Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
